Some of the best-known examples include William Gibson's Neuromancer (Victor Gollancz Ltd, 1984), Count Zero (Victor Gollancz Ltd, 1986), Burning Chrome (Victor Gollancz Ltd, 1986), Mona Lisa Overdrive (Victor Gollancz Ltd, 1988), The Difference Engine [with Bruce Sterling] (Victor Gollancz Ltd, 1990) and Virtual Light (Viking, 1993). Another highly influential text is Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash (Penguin, London, 1993). Marge Piercy's Body of Glass (Michael Joseph, London, 1992 (first published in the US by Middlemarsh in 1991 as He, She and It), while lesser known, also deals with the same themes. It is worth noting that all of these texts originate from the US.
