No more buses pulling out noisily next door
Waking us up at 3am
Lives punctuated by their timetables.

No more police riding down the street after fans
Rousing cheers from the stadium
Calendars dictated by match schedules.

No more locals working right around the corner
Jingling cash in neighbours' pockets
Chances created by ticket sales.

Now towers are jostling for space around us
Sucking gold for foreign landlords
Residents all fated by the planners.
