Winter work

Spiky icy frozen ground
Winter’s finally come around
Steamy breath in freezing air
Fox is hiding in his lair
Worms are hardened in the soil
Adding to the blackbirds’ toil
Frost is sticking to the tiles
Icy roads stretch out for miles
The sun beams out and lights the scene
But lacks the strength to intervene
Today’s a day to stay indoors
To iron clothes and hoover floors.
